![]() See how tough it is in a sense? Many people would say "He still brought her into prison / didn't admit his crime" to retort to my defense of him the same way you are struggle to maybe see Silco as "obviously evil/bad". Marcus saved Vi because she was going to be killed, he has nothing to gain in this shit, if she died there was no witness of him being corrupted/greedy and leading his mentor to her death. Is Marcus a good person? Everyone will tell you no, he suck, nobody care, hail Viktor. It still doesn't stop him from trying to do 'rightful' action at a time. ![]() Marcus doesn't have an 'excuse' like Silco for his evil doing but he feel remorses and is weak against his own fears and incapacity to handle his responsability. The moment he decided in cold blood to kill children, to destroy innocent life for his own cause, he became maybe evil but worse than that he decided to be bad when he knew his action were hurting others.Īnother character that many people dislike but is a very interesting parallel is Marcus. He'll use his mob empire to raise Zaun and raze Piltover.įighting for a good cause doesn't make your evil action redeemable if they could be avoided. But that doesnt mean Silco cant also be sympathetic and have some noble qualities. ![]() That's why he saves Jinx, while at the same time having no second thoughts about threatening Marcus' daughter. Including the cost of innocent people in Piltover. I think he legitimately wants to help Zaunites at any cost. She was a "son and daughter of Zaun" as Silco put it. He saved her, imo, because she was worth saving. Silco didnt save Jinx in order to manipulate her. Silco simply pushed his ideologies on Jinx naturally as all parents do to their children. Jinx became Jinx because of her traumatic past and wasnt Silco's fault. Unlike most viewers, I agree with you, I dont think he intentionally manipulated Jinx into being Jinx. In Silco's case that one evil quality is his black and white view on who deserves empathy. Like most good villains Silco has noble qualities in him, but is pushed into villainy by having one evil quality. Have I been reading too much political theory? Am I now evil? A lot of revolutionaries are p Dickish, but we judge them for their results, cough George Washington’s slaves. He’s kinda bad, but he is fighting for the Undercity frfr. Would he rlly hurt her tho? Idk maybe I’m biased, but he didn’t hurt Jinx (he even hugged her).Ĥ) he beat up his mercs, and prolly wanted to kill Vi without consulting Jinx Post-Silco, they have a nice, high class place with good security, and those workers don’t look like their trapped? At least I don’t see that nice yordle prostitute willingly running a brothel that does? Sex work is known to be safer when legalized, so yay Silco? How? Pre Silco we got a shot of the brothel involving a guy being thrown out for indecency. Plus all that influx from being a trade hub? I can’t rlly see how Silco is at fault, but maybe it’s his drugs? I’m kinda movable hereĢ) the sex worker said life’s been worse post Vander I don’t rlly want to blame drug addicts, so let’s say that’s a big blemish for Silco.ġ) The slum is bigger then when Vi was a kid. ![]() He thought she was dead! Would he have? Maybe, but he didn’t so?ĭidn’t the violence work? The council no longer screws with the Lanes post-Shimmer?Īight yes, requiem for a dream, drugs are bad he’s a dick for selling. He didn’t even pull the old lie about ur sister not being dead. Is that rlly unfair? Piltover seems ready to fuck the undercity if it came down to it- their council certainly feels that way. He also encouraged her tech thing, which, granted, are war weapons, but he also explicitly wanted hextech gates to “level the playing field”. Are you telling me she wasn’t taught to kill by Vander and co? Vi wasn’t pulling any punches against Silco’s goons (she threw them off a ledge that shit kills). Ok so maybe he trained her to be a killer. He didn’t let her “clean up” after the smuggler mess, but like, yeah that makes sense? He even treats Jinx as an adult, trusting her to be in every meeting, and standing up for her whenever someone trash talks her. All he’s doing is try to help her the way he wished someone helped him? He has the same beat for beat background with Jinx. I rlly wanted him to be shown as obviously manipulating Jinx, but like, is he though? I thought we were being set up for some good old fashioned grooming to clearly highlight to us that it’s a big bad, but isn’t he just projecting? He tried to kill Vi & crew! Was he though? And how helpless was Vi if she managed to singlehandedly beat the shit out of 5+ guys? Ok so the show’s not done yet, but is Silco really bad? ![]()
